I talked to….basically my parents in Christ today! I shied away from telling them my struggles because I felt they might be disappointed in the fact that I’ve been going through consistent struggles reading the Word, journaling, and praying, but I sort of summed it and eventually told them. And guess what they did? They encouraged me sweetly. The lady, let’s call her A, had been going through somewhat similar issues of not feeling like reading the Bible but her husband encouraged her do it, and did it with her.
When I told them about how I was just gonna start over, taking baby steps, he encouraged me from the background saying, “you can do it!” Then came closer to explain more clearly of how it is important to keep going back. Because it is in those times, those times of weakness, feelings of not feeling like, those times when the desire is not there, that we need to press on all the more, even more than normal because it is in those moments that we see the devil trying to win. He wants to make us believe lies and push us further away from the truth, further away from Christ (paraphrasing).
I cried. Boy am I glad it was a voice call! lol.
Indeed, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness (Eph. 6:12 ESV).
Thank God for disciplers!
Have a lovely day, or evening, wherever you may be! xx
