I re-learnt that God does what He does for His glory, so that His name may be proclaimed in all the earth (Exodus 9:16), we may know that the earth is the Lord’s (Exodus 9:29), and so He can show signs of His power, and in turn, we spread the news of this power, and hence, know that He is Lord (Exodus 10:1-2). And this work of the Lord is not only in the softening of hearts, but also in the hardening (the story of Pharaoh in the beginning of the book of Exodus). Why? So that no man can boast in and of themselves with regards to their salvation, for it is all the Lord’s doing.
