Hey Corona, Bye Corona

My university has been shut down for a month, up until April 4th and everyone is in a commotion fearing the possibilities.

Its fascinating because at any instant in time, any thing is possible. The bed you’re sleeping on can instantly crash and your building can collapse on you. When you go out to walk on the streets, cars can hit you. When you drive, you can get into an accident. As you alight stairs, you can badly trip. From a flu, you can die.

I can go on and on, but point is, physical death is likely to happen at any moment, but what hold does that have on the children of God?

Has God not told us that we’re safe in His arms?

Has God not told us that we should have courage and be strengthened in Him?

Has God not told us not to fear this world or the things of this world, that we shouldn’t fear the things that can harm the body but fear the One that can destroy both body and soul in hell?

Has God not told us to simply believe and not fear?

So why? Why dear little one, are you anxious of this little thing compared to our big God?

Why are you consumed in fear by the fact that our body can die from this disease when we know that, it is far better to be with Christ?

Why?

If you’ve been fearing, please don’t be anymore. Trust in the Lord. Confide in Him. He will protect you and shield you. You are covered in Christ and in Him, we have life, though we may die because Christ has conquered death.

Here are some bible verses to calm your troubled hearts:

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Psalms 56:3 ESV

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalms 23:4 ESV

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

Romans 8:28‭-‬30 ESV

fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 ESV

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 10:28 ESV

I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Philippians 1:23 ESV

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Philippians 4:4‭-‬8 ESV
